Everyone deserves to
stay at the Bellagio at least once in his life! No design or
architectural touch has been neglected in the construction of the
premier hotel on the Strip. It's certainly not the cheapest
accommodation in Vegas, but certainly worth every penny.
The famed entrance to the Bellagio is guarded
by a spectacular 10+ acre lake with fabulous fountains spraying
water in concert with music and light at regular half hour
intervals.
Then you enter through the lobby, where the
ceiling is adorned by a spectacular display of thousands of colorful
glass flowers. I spoke to one of the Vice Presidents of Marketing
and was told that the glass ceiling exhibit cost in excess of 3
Million Dollars JUST FOR THE CEILING GLASS!
As you walk through the casino, the Italian
rugs and tapestries give a true sense of the Old World. Everything
from the light fixtures to the window treatments to the uniforms are
done with elegance.
Our Suite was absolutely top of the line. The
travertine marble, the private swimming pool and the impeccable
Bellagio Service was just as expected from our good friend Steve
Wynn's Premiere Showpiece.
The restaurants at the Bellagio are
other-worldly! Personally, I loved Shintaro for its Benihana-like
preparation and world-class food. I highly recommend the Kobe steak.
Circo was another big hit with its fantastic Italian specialties and
the great lake view.
After dinner, no need to leave the Bellagio
because it has the best upscale nightlife in town. Start off at
Caramel, a great ambience lounge where beautiful people like our
group like to hang out. Then head off to Light, an extraordinary
nightclub for visitors to experience the true ambiance of the “New
Las Vegas”.
Finally, no discussion of the Bellagio can be
complete without talking about "O", the masterful Cirque du Soleil
show on water. I have seen at least half a dozen of the different
Cirque du Soleil shows, and O is definitely one of the best and
certainly the most unique.
Robert's Bottom line:
Stay at the Bellagio!

Next we were given the opportunity to visit the
Absolutely Incredible Wynn Las Vegas Resort. Words can not describe
what Mr. Wynn has pulled off in this demonstration of indulgence.
Just walking inside the entryway was enough to make the statement
"You Have Arrived in Life"
We were told that Mr. Richard Chen, who helped
run Shanghai Terrace at The Peninsula Chicago, has signed on as the
final Wynn Las Vegas chef. Now, we see that as a true coup!
The director told us that of the restaurants in
operation on the property; more than 10 are based on what they
explained as a "chef driven concept" guaranteeing the customer that
"personal touch”.
"This is it. The last piece in the puzzle,"
said one of Wynn's Royal Guards, at the $2.7 billion resort, as they
showed us the crystalline ball hanging overhead.
While at the Wynn, We were hosted by Mr. Brig
Lawson, a very gracious and wonderful individual who personally
arranged in association with Selena Singh for our group to see the
world famous "LE REVE"
Le Reve is another
top notch performance by Mr. Franco Dragonet, the world renowned
creator of "O" and "Cirque de Soleil"
The in-the-round seating is great for the
audience, and the circular design of the venue reflects open space
for each member of the audience to be drawn into the Show. The show
is full of incredible body art, hand balancing by acrobats that look
clear and linear. There was definitely a design with a special
emphasis on safety and design to ensure the safety of the actors and
the audience.
This aquatic spectacular is simply a small
collection of imperfect dreams, is the first of its kind in Las
Vegas. Uniquely intimate and spectacularly personal, no seat is more
than 40 feet from the action. The show is a completely new form of
staging and artistic performance, where the theater and water are
alive with a translucent energy.
"My aim with Le Reve is to create an entirely
new universe, to transport everyone into a world where the theater,
performance and audience become one and the same reality," says
Franco Dragonet, the internationally acclaimed director, whose
credits include O, Mystery and Celine Deon: A New Day. We
were provided with these amazing photos from Koryne Barrette, who
works directly with Dragone. Therefore we will present all of these
photos, as they have never been released before to the media of
Le Reve !
